Feni Soccer Club, one of the new comers, who made their entry in the Citycell B-League, may be a great surprise in the third edition of the Citycell B-League. They are targeting to occupy a place in the top four in their debut. Feni Soccer Club officials are planning to recruit four Latin American booters and a European coach in their bid to vie with the top clubs of the clubs of the country.
Feni Soccer Club joined in the players’ registration on Saturday with a high hope to maintain the third or fourth position while they signed up 13 players in their first instalment.
Feni Soccer Club, by virtue of claiming the runners-up position in the recently concluded Basundhara Champions Club Cup tournament, had the invitation from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to play in the B-League. Golam Rabbani and Shakhawat Hossain Bhuyian Shahin, team manager and the football secretary respectively, detailed about their preparation for the Citycell B-League, country’s top-level soccer competition.
Both the officials of the team said that they have already chalked out plans, set the target. They have completed almost all necessary works to play in the high profile B-League.
Shakhawat Shahin said, “As we get the entrance in the country’s highest level competition, we are almost prepared to take the challenge, certainly we will try our best to prove our capability.”
“Although, there is a huge scarcity of quality players, as most of our key performers have already been booked by some other clubs but we are not demoralised,” Shahin said.
In reply to a query Shahin confidently said, “We wrote our name in this level not to go out after playing one season, we are here with a view to retain our place for a long, it’s our challenge.”
“Although we don’t want to detail all about our policy but I just want to say that we will give you a surprise. I can’t assure you right now but we are trying to contact with four Mexican booters.” Shahin said.
“We have a reliable source in Mexico, through that channel we are trying our best to bring four booters from Mexico City and also trying to manage a European coach,” Shahin revealed.
