A wing of a Hong-Kong bound Bangladesh Biman flight with 88 passenger on board caught fire while it was about to take off at Hazrat Shahjalal International
Airport Friday afternoon, forcing the authorities to reschedule the flight.
The passengers boarded on DC-10, however, remained unhurt, the officials told New Age.
Of the 88 passengers, 79 were Indian citizens in the connecting flight.
The passengers registered their protest at the transit of the airport against this unscheduled delay.
An airport official said the incident took place at about 3:00pm when it was taking off for the Hong Kong.
