Five crew members of the sunken MV Hope, who were found alive, reached the Chittagong Port at around 9 pm on Sunday. They boarded the ship MV Bux Moon to reach the port. The bodies of two crew members of the ill-fated ship will reach the Chittagong Port the next week. The alive seamen are fourth engineer of the vessel Abdul Hakim, deck cadet Mukhlesur Rahman, seamen Rubel, Osman and Saiful Islam.
Sources related with shipping agents said the rescue operation to rescue the Bangladeshi seamen, who went missing on Thursday on Thailand coast, had been on Sunday. But, six persons are still missing.
The team rescued nine crew members and recovered two bodies. The rescued seamen are Md Abdul Hakim, Moklesur Rahman, Abu Bakkar Siddique, Mohammed Rubel, Saiful Islam and Mohammed Osman, second officer Mobarak Hossain, deck cadet Md Faijur Rahman and engine cadet Mushfiqur Rahman.
The victims, who were killed in the accident, were chief officer Md Mahabub Morshed and chief engineer Kaji Saifuddin.
The missing seamen are MV Hope captain Rajib Chandra Kormokar, second engineer Md Nejam Uddin, electrician Sadim Ali, crews Nasir Uddin, Ali Hossain and cook Mohammed Nasir Uddin.
Meanwhile, the crew members of FV Pyline, another vessel that succumbed to accident, are yet to be rescued.
