Foodpanda donated €5,000 to the LEEDO squad representing Bangladesh at the Street Child World Cup 2022 in Doha. A Jersey Handover Ceremony was recently held at foodpanda headquarters.
The Street Child World Cup Doha 2022 took place 8-15 October and brought impoverished children from around the world together for a football game, arts festival, and child-focused Congress and General Assembly.
This is the fourth Street Child World Cup, after South Africa (2010), Brazil (2014), and Russia (2018).
SCWC 2022 will allow disadvantaged youngsters to represent their countries.
“I’ve always liked sports. It unites people despite origin, gender, or socioeconomic differences. I loved meeting the girls and was struck by how bright and full of life they are despite their obstacles “Ambareen Reza, foodpanda Bangladesh Limited’s managing director and co-founder.
The team captain, Jesmin Akhter said, “Bangladesh will attend SCWC 2022 in Doha. Being a part of an international event is wonderful, and wearing the Bangladesh shirt gives us power, as though our nation is cheering for us.”
LEEDO has been a non-profit, volunteer organization since 2000, according to a press release. They provide refuge, food, and education to Bangladesh’s growing number of street children.
