People of Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka district are not getting gas for last one week as one Sirajul Islam Patwary allegedly caused the gas pipeline to burst while doing the piling works of his building. As a result, two lakh subscribers are suffering, but the Titas Gas authorities have not taken any action against him.
Local people are angry with Sirajul Islam Patwary and Titas Gas for not getting gas during this holy month of Ramadan.
Many people, who can not observe fast for want of gas, are planning to start agitation, local sources said. One gas consumer, Joynal said although Titas Gas is assuring them everyday of restoring gas connection but to no effect.
