Members of Rapid Action battalion on Sunday rescued a girl from the Aichpur area in Tangi six days after her abduction.
She was abducted from village Ullapara under Sirajganj on July 8.
RAB arrested four persons in this connection.
The arrested were Rimon, 24, son of Mainul Sarker, Amzad Hossain, 25, son of Beru Sarker, Emon, 24, son of Abdul Malek Sarker, and Kowsar, 23, son of Kalm Uddin, — all from village Goyhata.
In a press release on Monday, RAB officials said the girl was abducted on July 8 from her village. Later, the miscreants took her to Cox’s Bazar where she was drugged before being raped.
After three days of the incident, the convicts demanded ransom of Tk 5 lakh from her family.
They also threatened her family of releasing their daughter’s nude video if their demand were not fulfilled.
The arrested were the members of a human
trafficking group and had been in this business for long, abducting schoolgirls and women, said RAB officials.
A case filing was
under process in this connection.
