As many as 79,337 candidates have passed the MBBS admission test for the academic year 2021-2022.
Among them, 55.13% are girls, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said while announcing the results at the health department this afternoon.
A total of 1,39,742 candidates appeared for the MBBS entry exam.
Among the candidates, 44,504 girls and 34,833 boys have passed.
Sumaiya Muslem Mim got the highest score – 92.5. She sat for the exam from Khulna Medical College Centre.
A total of 4,350 out of the students who passed the entry test will get the opportunity to study in 37 government medical colleges in the country.
Of the rest, according to the merit order, 72 can be admitted to private medical colleges. The number of seats in private medical colleges is 6,489.
Female candidates also outshined males in admission at the government medical colleges. In total, 2,345 girls and 1,885 boys will get the chance to study in government medical college.
