The customs officials Thursday night seized four gold bars weighing four kilograms at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
They said that the gold bars worth about Tk 2 crore were found hidden inside a television set, but no arrest was made in this connection.Customs assistant commissioner M Wazed Ali said that they had secret information that something might be smuggled out of the airport. ‘So we have remained alert and recovered the bars after scanning the TV set.’
The officials concerned scanned all television sets carried by a Tiger Airlines flight from Singapore about 10:00pm and found the four gold bars hidden inside a TV set.
