The government will provide financial assistance to government, private and individual
initiatives for developing digital innovations on hassle-free quick service to the people.
In line with its vision to build ‘Digital Bangladesh’, the government launched an ‘Innovation Fund’ on March 28 last year at the Prime Minister’s Office to provide financial assistance to the organisations and individuals involved in digital innovations, said officials of Access to Information (A2I) Programme.
Information and communication technology secretary and national project director of A2I Md Nazrul Islam Khan said initially Tk 1.50 crore would be provided to small initiatives of government, private organisations and individuals for the digital innovations and research relating to improving the quality of service delivery.
He said the amount of innovation fund would be enhanced in the next three years to involve more government and private organisations in the digital innovations. ‘We are giving emphasis on changing the existing cumbersome service delivery system introducing the digital system for ensuring people’s hassle-free access to public and private services,’ Nazrul said.
National Project Director of A2I Programme said Bangladeshi teachers have shown their expertise in developing digital contents for multimedia classrooms and they are changing the century-old traditional teacher centered learning system.
