Grameenphone (GP) Ltd on Sunday released four albums of noted popular singer Kumar Bishwajit, whose melodious voice and unique singing style captivates generations of music lovers in Bangladesh for over 30 years.
The four albums are: “Meghe-r Palki”, “Ekta Akash”, “Swapner Anagona” and “Prem-er Abash” will feature the hit songs of the singer sung since 1980. In these four albums, the fans can re-discover the magic of Kumar Bishwajit’s old numbers starting from all-time hits melodies like “Torey putul-er moto kore shajiye” to “Tomar gorur gari-tey”. The albums have been launched to celebrate the 30 years of his singing career.
Initially, the albums would be exclusively available for GP subscribers for a period of two months as Value Added Services (VAS) which include welcome tune and full track download etc. The songs can also be heard through the GP Music Radio Service (4040).
Commenting on the launching of the new albums, Kumar Bishajit says, “The venture to launch the albums through digital means to celebrate my 30 years of singing career is a great way to reach the new generation of audiences. I think this is a very interesting concept and more importantly, the copyright protection can be enforced properly. I’m really hopeful about this venture.”
