Guardians formed a human chain, held a rally and laid siege to the Rajshahi deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday as part of their continued agitation demanding fresh admission tests for Class III in city government schools.
At around 11:00am, several hundred people under the banner of ‘conscious guardians’ formed a human chain on the Rajshahi court premises.
Then they held a rally there and at one stage besieged the Rajshahi deputy commissioner office inside the court premises.
Addressing the rally, guardians demanded punishment for the people involved in tempering the results of admission test for Class III at six governmental schools in the city.
Meanwhile four guardians city lodged a fresh written complaint with the deputy commissioner, who is also president of the admission test committee, bringing a charge of admission forgery against four teachers of two government schools of the city.
Ajgor Hossain, resident of Hetem Khan, Kamrul Hasan, resident of Ganakpara, Shreebas Bishwash, resident of Kumarpara, and Rina Islam, resident of Laxmipur, submitted the complaint to the DC Delowar Bakth.
Guardians in their complaint claimed that the headmaster of Rajshahi Government Laboratory School and two assistant teachers and another assistant teacher of Rajshahi Collegiate School were involved in the admission forgery.
They said Abdur Rahman and Mushfiqur Rahman, assistant teacher of Government Laboratory School, and Mossorraf Hossain, assistant teacher of Collegiate School, had taken big amount of money from some guardians giving 100 per cent assurance of admission in the schools.
They said these three teachers ran an admission coaching at the Government Laboratory School, violating the government rules and regulations.
The headmaster of Government Laboratory School leased the school hostel rooms for running the coaching, the guardians said.
Guardians alleged that these three teachers were on duty as invigilators in the room where their private students sat for the admission test.
The headmaster of Government Laboratory School arranged all these for the teachers, they said in the complaint.
The accused teachers could not be reached for comment.
The guardians also sent the copy of the complaint to the education minister, secretary of education ministry, divisional commissioner of Rajshahi, additional deputy commissioner (education), deputy director of secondary and higher secretary education Rajshahi region, district education officer and the local newspaper offices and press club in Rajshahi.
When contact, Rajshahi deputy commissioner Delowar Bakth said four guardians submitted a compliant to him and he was looking into the matter.
He also told New Age that a probe committee was formed to investigate the allegation against the alleged four teachers.
‘But the there is no possibility to hold fresh test for Class III admission,’ he added.
