Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Muhammad Faruk Khan inaugurated the Hajj flight from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport this morning. Addressing the inaugural ceremony as chief guest, Muhammad Faruk Khan said that two more planes are going to be added with the existing fleet of Bangladesh Biman for carrying pilgrims from next year. “Thus, there will be no need to hire foreign planes anymore as we will be able to carry them with our own planes”, he said. “Of the two planes, one is to be added by February and another by March 2014. If two more planes are added with the existing two, then we will not need to hire any more foreign planes,” he said. “Harassment will also lessen with the planes.” A Boeing 777 BG-5033 left for Jeddah from Chittagong with 419 pilgrims on Monday.
