Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in London this (Thursday) afternoon on the first leg of her eight-day visit to the United Kingdom and Belarus.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG 015), carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage, landed at the Heathrow Airport around 2:30 pm (BST 7:30 pm). Bangladesh High Commissioner to UK Mijarul Quayes, his wife, and senior officials of the High Commission received the Prime Minister at the Heathrow Airport.
From Heathrow, the Prime Minister was taken in a motorcade to Hotel Hilton where she will be staying during her visit to the UK.
Earlier, on Thursday morning, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG 015), carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage, departed Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:40 am.
Ministers, Advisers to the Prime Minister, senior party leaders, State Ministers, and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see off the Prime Minister.
Hasina will stay in London for four days before leaving for Belarus on July 8.
In London, she will have a meeting with British Foreign Minister William Hague later this (Thursday) evening at London Hilton Hotel. On Friday, she will have a meeting with the member of Bangladesh community.
On the following day (Saturday), the Prime Minister will give an interview to Belarusian Television at 10:00 am.
The Prime Minister will have a breakfast meeting with peers and MPs on July 8.
After wrapping up her tour, Hasina will leave London for Belarus at about 3:00 pm on July 8 and will arrive in Belarus capital Minsk the same day.
Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail V Myasnikovich and Bangladesh Ambassador to Belarus Dr Saiful Hoque will receive the Prime Minister at the Minsk International Airport.
During her stay in Minsk, Hasina will have a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko at his official residence on July 9.
On the same day, she will also have a bilateral meeting with Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail V Myasnikovich at the House of Government.
After the bilateral talks and a signing ceremony, both the leaders will have a joint press briefing. The Belarusian Prime Minister will host a banquet in the evening in honour of Bangladesh’s Prime Minister at ‘Frunze 15’ residence.
On July 10, Hasina will visit Khatyn State Memorial Complex, place a wreath there and sign the visitors’ book.
The Prime Minister will attend a Business Council Meeting of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) where she and her Belarusian counterpart will deliver speeches.
Later, she will also visit Minsk Automobile Plant and Minsk Milk Production Factory.
On July 11, the Prime Minister will leave Minsk for home and reach Dhaka the same day.
