Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday greeted
Nawaz Sharif for being elected the prime minister of Pakistan.
In a message, the Prime Minister said the smooth parliamentary polls, peaceful transfer of power and election of Newaz Sharif as the prime minister are great a victory of democracy in Pakistan. She said that the people of Bangladesh are happy over the success of democracy in Pakistan, and hoped that the relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan will get a new momentum under the dynamic leadership of Newaz Sharif.
The victory of Newaz Sharif will be a big step forward to make democratic process sustainable and establish social peace in Pakistan and South Asia as well, she said.
Sheikh Hasina expressed her firm conviction that democracy in Pakistan will also help fight together against poverty and hunger, a common enemy of progress in South Asia.
Sheikh Hasina wished good health and long life of Prime Minister Newaz Sharif and continued peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and its people.
Pakistan’s parliament elected Nawaz Sharif as prime minister for the third time after his party’s landslide victory in the general elections last month.
