The High Court on Sunday issued a rule asking the authorities concerned why the bail granted to Hall-Mark Group Chairman Jesmine Islam in 11 corruption cases should not be cancelled. In response to a petition, the HC bench comprising Justice Nizamul Haque and Justice Kashifa Hossain issued the rule. Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Sheikh Yusuf Harun and Jesmin have been asked to reply to the rule within two weeks.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on August 13 filed 11 petitions with the HC seeking cancellation of the trial court order that granted bail to Jesmine Islam in 11 graft cases.
