The Hefajat-e-Islam activists barricaded the Chittagong-Khagrachhari road at Hathazari, suspending traffic in protest at the clashes with the law enforcers in Dhaka Sunday night.
Liakat Ali, officer-in-charge of Hathazari police station, said the Hefajat men put barricade at three points of the road from Al Jamiatul Ahlia Drul Ulum Moinul Islam (Hathazari Madrassah) to Sarkar Hat at about 6:45pm.
He said a huge contingent of police had been trying to remove the barricade.
