The heritage volunteers participating in UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers Programme 2023 visited national museum in Dhaka on Sunday.
The ten-day workshop programme organised by Nagar Upakhyan-Perceive started on October 1, said a press release.
The Heritage volunteers’ team visited national museum which is on the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list on the eighth day of the programme.
Earlier, they visited different archaeological places in Cumilla and Naogaon.
This year’s theme is ‘interpretation of the terracotta plaques of the Buddhist Vihara at Paharpur, Bangladesh’.
The World Heritage Volunteers Programme workshop will be conducted till October 10 by visiting Cumilla and Paharpur, attending a terracotta workshop at the Charukala at Dhaka University and visiting Bangladesh National Museum.
The programme has been organised this year with the collaboration of ministry of culture, Bangladesh national museum, department of archaeology, Cumilla University, Jahangirnagar University and Paharpur Buddhist Vihar Museum.
