Bangladesh made an auspicious start in the Robi Asian Games Qualifying Hockey when the hosts crushed Thailand by 8-1 goals in their first match at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.
Chayan was the key player for the massive victory against the opponents who scored five goals with a hat-trick for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh dominated over their weaker counterpart and took the total control of the match.

Habul increased the tally into 4-0 using a short pass of John which came to him by a through of Krishna in the 20th minute of the game.
Mosharrof raised the difference into 5-0 using a ball which came to him after deflected by a Thailand defender from a hit of Habul in the 29th minute of the match.
After the intermission Chayan struck again capitalizing a penalty corner by Jimmy which was stopped by Mosharrof in the 38th minute of the clash.
Surasak of Thailand returned one by his solo effort in the 50th minute of the encounter.
Chayan scored his fourth goal by using a Jimmy penalty corner which was stopped by Biplob in the 58 th minute of the game.
Chayan fulfilled his hat-trick using a Nannu penalty corner which came to him via Mosharrof.
Chayan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his eye-catching performance.
In the day’s first match, Hong Kong of China earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Sri Lanka at the same venue.
Hong Kong led the first session 2-0.
Arif Ali of Hong Kong scored two goals and his teammates Asghar Ali, James netted one each.
On the other hand, Demmikka, Hettiarachchi, Gazzaly of Sri Lanka successfully struck one time each on the board.
In the day’s last match, Chinese Taipei achieved a 4-1 victory over Singapore at the same venue.
Chen Yi, Tsai Ming, Chang Chun, Yang An netted one each while Prashan Anbalagan scored the consolation for the losers.
