Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalentexaminations of 2012 began yesterday across the country with 9,26,814 examineestaking part from 7,556 educational institutions.
Of the total examinees, 4,96,395 are male and 4,30,419female. The number of examinees rose by 1,47,373 this year. As many as 7,50,852candidates including 3,65,258 female are appearing in the HSC examinationsunder eight general education boards of the country.
A total of 85,226 students including 36,019 female aretalking part in the Alim examinations under Madrasa education board, 86,415under vocational examinations and 3,229 students in DIBS examinations. As manyas 182 students from five centres abroad are also taking part in theexaminations. In Chittagong, the first day of the Higher Secondary Certificate(HSC) examination under Chittagong Education Board (CEB) passed off yesterdaypeacefully Board source said, on the first day a total of 53913 students out of54,453 participated in the examination from 192 colleges in 88 centres. Twoexaminees were expelled on the first day for adopting
unfair means in the examination from Rajhastoli centreof Rangamati district. In Rajshahi, atotal of 1,06,800 students including 56,494 females are appearing the HigherSecondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, under the Rajshahi Education Board.
