In the face of protests by HSC examinees of the science group, the government yesterday deferred the mathematics examinations by nearly a month.
According to the revised routine, examinations of two papers of mathematics will be held on May 17 and 20, instead of April 22 and 24.
Meanwhile, the pre-scheduled examinations on May 17 and 20 have been shifted to May 22 and 24.
The Dhaka education board authorities yesterday posted the revised routine of the HSC examinations on its website (www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd) after getting approval from the education ministry.
The HSC examinations will begin on April 1.
Soon after publishing the routine, the science group students of different colleges in the city and elsewhere in the country have been demonstrating for a revision in the schedule. They said the examinations of science group will end within 29 days while the students of other groups will get 50 days.
On February 22, at least 15 students were injured as police charged batons on the agitating students in front of the board office at Bakshi Bazar.
