Civic platform Santrash Nirmul Tawki Mancha on Tuesday formed a human chain in front of press club in Naraynganj demanding trial of the killers of college student Tanvir Mohammad Tawki.
A-Level student Tanvir Mohammad Tawki, 17, son of a cultural activist Rafiur Rabbi, went missing on March 6 and the police recovered his body from a canal of the west side of the river Shitalakhaya on March 8.
Addressing the human chain, former district Awami League convenor SM Akram Hossain, also former lawmaker, said that the deputy commissioner and the superintendent of police in Narayanganj would be tried in future in a public court if the perpetrators were not brought to book.
He said that local Awami League leader Shamim Osman, his brother Nasim Osman and their fellows were committing terrorism being patronised by the chief of the government.
The Mancha convener Rafiur Rabbi, member secretary Halim Azad, its leaders Johirul Islam, Anowar Hossain, Mahbubur Rahman Masum, Prodip Ghosh, Rathin Chatterjee, among others, addressed the human chain.
