Cricket Australia security head and an ICC official have arrived in Bangladesh on Sunday to observe the security condition of the country ahead of the ICC Under-19 World Cup, said officials on Sunday.
ICC security consultant Sean Norris arrived on Sunday before CA security head Sean Carroll joined him to take part for the scheduled meeting with different security agencies on December 28 and 29.Bangladesh is scheduled to host the ICC Under-19 World Cup from January 27 to February 14 in eight different venues of four cities– Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar.
Australia is the only country who are yet to confirm their participation in the tournament.
Carroll visited Bangladesh on September to observe security state before Australia’s tour on October, which was scrapped causing security concerns.
Carroll arrived after the Australian government had issued security alerts for their citizens in Bangladesh and following that visit, CA postponed their tour of two-Test series.
However, BCB officials said that they are not worried as they think it a routine visit and a follow up of the meetings held on November and December ahead of the global tournament.
