A high-profile delegation from the ICC World Twenty20 tournament committee arrived in Dhaka on Monday to inspect the development of the Sylhet and Fatullah venues, according to Bangladesh Cricket Board officials. The delegates, including general manager Campbell Jamieson, World Twenty20 event director Chris Tetley and event manager Dhiraj Malhotra, will assess the progress made on the two venues, which are expected to host matches in next year’s tournament.
The delegation will visit the Sylhet stadium on Wednesday and the Fatullah stadium on Thursday, before meeting with BCB
officials to discuss their observations.
However, the fate of the Sylhet stadium will not be decided immediately, as an ICC delegation is expected to reach Dhaka on October 13 to make a final determination on the fate of the venue.
