The Information Commi-ssion and a mobile telecommunication operator, Robi Axiata Limited, on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to create mass awareness of the Right to Information Act, 2009 among the people across the country.
Under the MoU, Robi will give short message service, television scrolls, slogans and logos as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Information Commission secretary Nepal Chandra Sarker and Robi chief executive officer Budyut Kumer Basu singed the MoU at the commission office in the capital to make the information available to the common people, government and non-government offices, national and international organisations and donors.
The chief information commissioner, Muhammad Zamir, said the MoU would help ensure accountability and good governance, institutional transparency and reduce corruption.
