Communication Minister and Awami League presidium member Obaidul Kader on Sunday said that his party would not give its ticket to those who are isolated from the people, to contest in the next general elections due early next year. “We will nominate those who have huge peoples’ support, for contesting in the upcoming polls in order to make AL victorious,” he said this after launching district level election campaign of the ruling Awami League, at a community center of Feni.
“No matter, how influential a leader you are it will not help to get nomination for the next polls. No one can get AL ticket without support of grassroots,” he added.
Calling upon the party leaders and workers to decide polling agent for AL, he said “You should work hard for the party symbol, not in favour of any individual.”
