YouTuber Jake Paul and boxing icon Mike Tyson have been officially suspended from boxing following their Netflix superfight.
In front of 70,000 spectators at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the two engaged in a massive, record-breaking fight on Friday night, November 15, last week. After eight rounds of action, Paul emerged victorious by unanimous decision on the scorecards.
Jake improved to 11-1 in professional boxing with his win, which spoiled Tyson’s first fight since a 2005 defeat to Kevin McBride.
Under rules from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which sanctioned the fight, each fighter must have at least three days of rest for each round they fought. Tyson and Paul will be out of the ring for the mandatory 24 days.
Fighters are allowed to appeal their medical suspensions in a hearing with TDLR to prove they are still fit to compete in the ring.
