Jamaat calls hartal Sunday

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Thursday called a nationwide dawn to dusk hartal for Sunday protesting verdict against its joint secretary general Mohammad Kamaruz­zaman for two wartime offences. The party announced the programme in a statement on Thursday following the ICT verdict
that awarded death sentence to Kamaruzzaman.The hartal was called in less than a couple of hours after Hefazat-e Islam withdrew its hartal programme slated for the same day.
