Former national player Kazi Joshimuddin Ahmed Joshi was appointed as the head coach of Mohammedan Sporting Club for the forthcoming 2014-15 football season, said the club on Monday. Joshi, also an ex-player of the club, was apparently rewarded for his recent success with the youth teams of the club. Under Joshi’s supervision, Mohammedan Under-16 and Under-18 teams clinched two consecutive Youth Club Cup Championship titles.
Joshi had expressed his desire to work with the senior team after he guided the Under-18 team to Club Cup championship last month.
The AFC A-license holder coach replaced Saiful Bari Titu, who left the job in the middle of the last season to join the Bangladesh Football Federation as assistant coach for the national team.
Joshi held the role of Mohammedan’s interim coach in 2005 season following the departure of Korean Man Yang Kang.
Mohammedan, who have planned to start their pre-season campaign from November 27, also appointed Abdul Kaiyum Sentu as their assistant coach.
