The parliamentary standing committee on housing and public works ministry on Tuesday recommended quick implementation of the directive to resolve complications
over allotment of plots to the affected people in Karwan Bazar.
The committee made the recommendation at its 48th meeting at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with the chairman, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, presiding over the programme.
Committee members, state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan, whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, M Abdus Sattar, Asaduzzaman Khan, Zahirul Haq Bhuiyan Mohan, KM Khalid and Azizul Haq Chowdhury attended the meeting, said an official release.
The JS body recommended speedy settlement of the applications by families of four martyred freedom fighters for allotment of abandoned houses.
The meeting reviewed the progress in implementation of the decisions taken in its last meeting and suggested ending Kuril Flyover construction by December 31, 2013.
It suggested starting implementation of the National Housing Authority’s housing project on 37.5 acres of acquired land in Narsingdi.
