Jahangirnagar University students formed a human chain on the campus on Saturday demanding a proper academic environment and an end to the current problem caused by teachers’ movement.
The students, teamed up as General Students’ Forum, alleged that the political interests of the teachers and thirst for power were what caused the campus crisis.
They said that the students were suffering from prolonged academic session because of such frequent movements.
They sought a proper academic atmosphere and urged the government to be more observant in recruitment to avoid such unwarranted incidents.
The students also requested the General Teachers’ Forum not to boycott classes. The students later brought out a procession.
