Jahangirnagar University Information and Technology Society on Thursday launched some initiatives in developing information and technology on the campus and its outside.
A view exchange meeting and iftar party was arranged by JUITS in the seminar room of
Zahir Raihan Auditorium in this regard.JU vice-chancellor Professor Anwar Hossain addressed the function as chief guest while JUITS adviser Professor AKM Shawnewaz, IIT director Fazlul Karim Patwary, chairman of computer science and engineering department Professor Humayun Kabir and Mozahidul Islam of history department were also present at the discussion.
‘I welcomed JUITS for taking such noble initiatives in applying information and technology in education sector,’ said VC Professor Hossain.
‘We will try to assist the organisation on behalf of the university authorities as far as possible,’ he added.
Earlier, convener of JUITS Ekramul Hossain Shuvo placed their future initiatives that included creating awareness of information security and cyber crime among the students of the campus, ensuring reduction of violence against women through proper use of information and technology and organising free seminar on outsourcing at the school and college level in Savar area.
