The mortal remains of Mohammad Ejajuddin Chowdhury Kaikobad, a volunteer who suffered serious burn injuries during the rescue operation at the collapsed Rana Plaza in Savar would be laid to rest with state honour on Tuesday (today). Kaikobad, 35, passed away at a Singapore hospital around 10:55pm (Bangladesh time) on Saturday, struggling for life for six days.“He will be laid to rest with state honor at the Banani graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza at the Cantonment Jame Masjid at 12:30pm on Tuesday,” Director of Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Shahinul Islam said.
Earlier, the body of Kaikobad arrived in the capital in a Thai Airways at about 12:15pm. The body was kept at the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) morgue, he added.
