Kalabagan Krira Chakra are waiting for the x-ray report on their star all-rounder Sakib al Hasan as a positive result will enable him to play for them for the first time in the Dhaka Premier League, said coach Sanwar Hossain on Monday. Kalabagan were able to rope in Sakib in the transfer window because of the newly introduced players-by-choice transfer system after he was snubbed by four clubs earlier but the club hardly had any luck to see him perform for them for a thumb injury he had sustained in the Caribbean Premier League.
‘We are waiting for the x-ray report as Sakib told us that if everything is fine he would play in tomorrow’s (today) match,’ said Sanwar.
‘But if he cannot play tomorrow’s game he is confident of making his first appearance in the DPL through the next match,’ said Sanwar.
Sakib, who picked up the injury on August 18, had been advised to take rest for four weeks which already ended. However, he could not recover fully that prompted the physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board to have an x-ray on his injured finger.
