Karnataka State Cricket Association are well poised against Bangladesh ‘A’ team in the Shafi Dharashah Tournament as they need 108 runs to win with eight wickets in hand after the end of second day of the four-day match. Off-spinner Sohag Gazi picked up 6-92 to help the visitors come back in the game as KSCA were dismissed for 223 in the first innings in reply to Bangladesh ‘A’ teams 110.
But the batsmen failed to grab the advantage in their second innings as they were all out for 232 runs in 68.2 overs.
In-form batsman Mominul Haque made 49 and Imrul Kayes scored 43 amongst the notable scorers while Gazi chipped in with 24 runs down the order.
Sunil Raju grabbed 5-92 and was well supported by Arjun Shetty who picked up 4-72 to help the hosts to be in an advantageous position.
Chasing only 120 runs to win with more than two days left in the match, KSCA lost two early wickets to end the day on 12 runs. Gazi claimed both the wickets after the ‘A’ team opted to open their bowling with the spinners.
