All eyes are set on the scheduled conference of the Sammilita Peshajibi Parishad, a platform of the pro-BNP professionals of the country, at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital Sunday. BNP chairperson and leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia is scheduled to address the conference as chief guest. Though the DMP has banned holding of all kinds of rallies and meeting in the capital with effect from 6 am Sunday, BNP leaders on Saturday said that the opposition leader would attend the meeting. BNP Standing Committee meeting also took a decision in this regard Saturday.
Since, the DMP ban includes holding of indoor meeting also, it is a matter to be seen whether the DMP would allow holding of the meeting, political analysts said apprehending any move to foil the meeting may escalate the ongoing political tension.
The civil society members have already expressed their dissatisfaction over the imposition of the DMP ban.
