The condition of actor Khalil, who is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals in the city’s Bashundhara Residential Area, has not improved yet.
Being critically ill, the national award winning actor was admitted first to Lab Cardiac Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU) on 10 November.
Later, he was transferred to Apollo Hospital on 13 November and has been kept under emergency life support as the condition of his health was deteriorating.
His treatment is now going under Indian physician Chandra Prakash.
Musa Khan, son of actor Khalil, said, “For the last few years, my father has been suffering from various diseases including lung, lever and kidney problems. Recently he underwent an open heart surgery and started feeling serious illness.”
Khalil Ullah Khan, widely known as Khalil, is a powerful actor both on silver and small screens. Beginning his acting career as a theatre activist, he debuted in Zahir Raihan’s Sonar Kajol. His acted films include Preet Na Jane Reet, Sangham, Bhawal Sannashi, Jongli Phool, Bini Shutar Mala, Wada, Bou Kotha Kow, Sonar Cheye Dami, Megher Pore Megh, Modhumoti and others.
Besides acting in more than 200 films, Khalil earned much appreciation for his Mia role on BTV play Sangsaptak. Azad Abul Kalam, minister for information and cultural affairs, paid him a visit at Apollo Hospitals.
