Popular pop singer Dilshad Nahar Kona has gained popularity as a pop singer by providing a number of hit songs for over a decade. Since the beginning of her career, Kona has attainted acclimation for her versatile and melodic voice.
Kona is on her way to release her third solo album in the upcoming Eid-ul-fitr, which is composed by Sri-Lankan music director Iraj Weerarathne and popular Bangladeshi composers Bappa Majumder and Fuad. Kona expressed her expectations about the album in an interview with New Age.
According to Kona, the album will entertain the listeners by offering various genres of songs including Nazrul Sangeet, hip-hop, semi-classical and more.
The album will also feature an unplugged version of her hit number “Jametic Bhalobasha”.
In fact, Kona got the opportunity of releasing such album after working with a Bangladesh-Srilanka music project, in which celebrated Bangladeshi singers Bappa Majumdar and Dilshad Nahar Kona have sung for a music album which is produced by Sri Lankan company Maharaja Entertainments (Private) Limited, which alliances with major music and movie companies in Asia.
Addressing the issue Kona said, “There will be a hip-hop number in this album which already has been aired on Sri-Lankan radio stations. It brings an immense opportunity for me to represent Bangladesh to a greater number of audiences.”
Kona released her second solo album with self title “Kona’ in 2009.”Bhijey borsha” from the album was a massive hit. She is also popular for her huge numbers of jingles. Kona has proved her talent as a playback singer as well.
“Playback singing is something which completes the career of a singer. I had opportunity to work with Habib Wahid and Emon Shaha in several movies,” she claimed.
Since her childhood Kona had a desire to be a singer and she prepared herself under the guidance of her teacher Moidul Islam. Kona believes regular practice is must for every singer. “I try to practice whenever I get time to nourish my voice”, she stated.
Kona wants to reach the height of acclamation like her favourite singer Runa Laila to take Bangla music to the doorsteps of global listeners.
Young and energetic Kona has also acted in few TV plays.
