Talented singer and winner of television reality show Channel-I, Sera Kantha, Konal unveiled her solo musical album titled Konal’s Jaadu, at a programme held at Liberation War Museum premises on Tuesday.
The album was unveiled by veteran singer Sohrab Hossain and music exponent Sudhin Das.
The album contains eight new songs, composed by noted composers like Bappa Majumdar, Fuad, Hriday Khan, Ibrar Tipu and Pritthi Raj. They songs are written by Pritthi Raj, Ahmed Saad Rizvi, Milan Mahmud, Shafiq Tuhin, Litan Ghosh, Shayan Kabanda and Abdar Rahman.
The songs of the album are of different types. About the songs, Konal told New Age, ‘The songs have been composed in such a way that people can get various types of music in the album. Thus, some of the songs are folk based, while others are modern. For example, Fuad bhai has composed two songs for the album that will offer listeners an essence of folk music.’
‘It will be a surprise for listeners when they will find George Harrison’s “Bangladesh Bangladesh” in the album, which Harrison rendered at the Concert for Bangladesh. The song is my tribute to George Harrison,’ Konal further added.
According to the singer, Konal’s Jaadu is her first solo album. She has lent her voice for several mixed albums since 2009, the year she won Channel-i Shera Kantha. Therefore, she is really excited about her debut solo album and hopes for listeners’ acceptance.
