Ahmed Rashid Lali, the immediate passed senior vice-president and a current director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, has resigned from two sub-committees of the stock exchange.
Lali submitted his resignation to the bourse management on Monday.
The two sub-committees from which Lali resigned are demutualisation implementation committee and organogram committee of the bourse.
‘Giving scope for work to the new leadership is the main reason for my resignation,’ Lali told New Age on Tuesday when asked about his resignation from the DSE committees.
On Saturday, Lali walked out of the first board meeting held after the bourse’s annual general meeting which elected new president, senior vice-president and vice-president of the bourse.
He alleged that a section of directors had held a secret meeting in a city restaurant in the previous night to fix the election result.
Ahasanul Islam Titu was elected president of the DSE in the board meeting.
Mohammad Shahjahan was elected senior vice-president and Mizanur Rahman Khan vice-president of the bourse.
