Laxmipur Govt Women’s College faces problems
Education of students is being hampered at Laxmipur Government Women’s College due to shortage of teachers and lack of academic building since long. Sources said that there are three tin-shed buildings for a large number of students that are not sufficient to accommodate the huge number of students. As a result, the students of Laxmipur Government Women’s College are being deprived of proper environment of education.
The shortage of teachers prevails in different departments, including the Department of Bangla, Mathematics, Management, Physics and Accounting. The course of BBA programme has also been introduced but the teachers have not been posted yet. Hundreds of students of Luxmipur Government Women’s College said that nobody comes to solve the problems.
“It is too tough to carry on the academic activities of 1,800 students of the institution”, they added. After establishment in 1986, last year a 120-seat female hostel was constructed by the Facilities Department but it is yet to be started.
The principal of the college said that they had sent letter to the authority concerned and National University but in vain.
Some students of the college said that they have been facing the shortage of teachers since long. They have to go outside of the college for drinking water as there is no canteen on college campus, the students added.
