For over three decades, band troupe Miles has won the hearts of millions of music lovers across the country though the band’s melodious songs and stunning performances. As one of the most celebrated bands, Miles spent a busy Eid-Ul-Fitr by appearing on various television programmes.
‘It was a busy Eid for Miles; we participated in various Eid special shows on different channels and FM radios,’ told Shafin Ahmed, the vocal and bassist of Miles, in an interview with New Age.
‘Among the television shows, Channel 71’s programme is a remarkable one. The channel aired a full profile of Miles which was aired on Eid day at 11:05am,’informed Shafin. The programme showed interviews of the band members, different video clips of special moments and performances of the band and some of its hit tracks.
‘We performed live on Eid second and third day respectively on Baishakhi TV and Maasranga at 11:00pm,’ said Shafin. ‘We really enjoyed participating in both the programmes, which were vibrant with audience responses,’ Shafin further added.
Although it is not specifically about Miles, still it is worth mentionable that ETV aired a show on music maestro Kamol Dasgupta this Eid. ‘Selected parts of Shatak Bocchor Porey, the special concert we (Shafin and Hamin Ahmed) organized at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of our father Kamol Dasgupta was aired on the fourth day of Eid,’ stated Shafin.
Shafin Ahmed has also participated in solo programmes for FM radio channels.
Miles is among the leading rock bands in Bangladesh. During the long and eventful musical career, Miles has created numerous popular songs including Chad tara shurjo nou tumi, Prothom premer moto, She kon dorodia, Phiriye dao, Dhiki dhiki, Hridoyheena and others.
