Lee Yan of Chinese Taipei on Sunday claimed the girls’ singles title in the 27th Bangladesh Junior Tennis Championship 2013, organised by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation and sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation, at the Ramna Tennis Complex.
Lee defeated Uzbekistan’s Umarova Komola 6-2, 6-3 in the final while her fellow countrywomen Han Chi Chen and Yang Lee clinched the girls’ doubles title after beating Uzbekistan’s Melisa Bekirova and Luciana Rabines of the United States 6-2, 6-3.
Meanwhile in the boys’ singles semi-finals, Great Britain’s Shamael Chaudhury defeated Ko Shao Min of Chinese Taipei 6-2, 6-4 while Chen Tin of Chinese
Taipei beat Ballekere Ravikumar of India, 6-2, 6-2.
In the boys’ doubles semi-finals, Indian pair Nikshep Ballekere Ravikumar and Sahil Gaware overcame Kareem Allaf of Syria and Shamael Chaudhury of Great Britain 6-4, 6-4 while Chinese Taipei duo Tin Chen and Chen-Shan Kuo beat Kazakhstan’s Zhansultan Chembolayev and Bolat Mamyr 6-3, 6-4.
The boys’ singles and doubles finals will take place today.
