Three people, including a woman and her granddaughter, were killed as they were struck by lightning at Chandpurchar village in Belkuchi upazila on Saturday. The deceased were identified Jahanara Begum, 60, her granddaughter Halima, 7, also daughter of Belal Hossain, and Taslima, 9, daughter of Makbul Hosain. All of them hailed from the Chandpurchar village. Witnesses said a thunderbolt hit the trio when they were taking bath in a river by their houses around 12 noon.
