Four people, including a child, were killed Sunday afternoon by lightning strike at village Birampur under Srimangal in Moulvibazar. The deceased were identified as Sumi Akter, 22, Shakil Miah, 25, Rahi Miah, 7, and Turuk Miah, 58, from the same family. Local people said the lightning struck them when they were taking bath in a pond in the area amid rain at around 2:00pm, leaving all of them dead on the spot.
The Srimangal police officer-in-charge, Mohammad Abdullah, has confirmed this incident.
