Locals caught a rapist red handed on Sunday while trying to
escape after raping a 7-year-old girl at a shanty in Sylhet.
The miscreant was identified as Mangal, 23, an employee of a shop
owned by local Abdul Mannan at Ghasitula in the city.Locals handed him over police after a sound beating.
After hearing the victim’s scream, neighbors came forward and caught the perpetrator when he was fleeing away.
Informed, a team of Kotwali police rushed to the spot and arrested Mangal.
Kotwali police officer-in-charge Ahmed Nasir Uddin confirmed New Age of the incident and said that a case was being filed in this regard.
