Former England one-day cricketer Malachy Loye is all set to join Bangladesh Cricket Board as the head coach of newly revived High Performance Unit, said the BCB officials on Wednesday. Australian Allister de Winter of Australia was the front runner for the post before he withdrawn himself citing family reasons. Loye, a right-hand batsman and off-break bowler, will join the BCB as it is going to organise a HP unit programme beginning from the first week of June.
A team comprising 22 promising cricketers is expected to remain attached with the HP Unit every year.
Along with the HP unit BCB is also going to introduce a specialised training programme for cricketers who are still in the contention but right now left out from the national set-up.
