5 cultural organistions honoured
The six-day Lucky Enam felicitation theatre festival ended on Sunday with staging of National Reparatory Theatre’s latest production Bideho, directed by Lucky Enam. Five prominent cultural organisations of the country were also honoured for their outstanding contributions towards the cultural arena of the country on the concluding day ceremony at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The six-day festival was organised by Nagorik Natyangan to celebrate the thespian’s 40 years in theatre and also her 60th birth anniversary.
The concluding day programme was chalked out colourfully. Tagore artiste Anima Roy presented a few Tagore classics including Manjhe manjhe tabo dekha pai bare aare
keno pain and Tomar khola howay.
Nagorik Natyangan artistes presented an instrumental production compiling tunes of several popular Bangla folk songs.
Eminent actor-director Ataur Rahman, who was also the convener of the festival, handed over honorary crests to the representatives of the organisations.

Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Jhuna Chowdhury, vice president of Sammilito Sangskritik Jote Golam Kuddus and president of Bangladesh Pathonatok Parisad Mannan
Hira received crest on behalf of the respective organisations.
The ceremony was followed by staging of Bideho.
Written by Shahman Moishan, the play depicts agonies of war heroines who are ousted from their families, hooted in the society and above all are neglected in the
question of their contribution in achieving the war of independence in 1971.
Set against the backdrop of today’s context after 41 years of the independence, Bidebo features war heroines Halima, enacted by Lucky Enam, Momena Chowdhury and Jyoti
Sinha played the roles Helima, Shantikumari and a war child respectively in the play.
