Mahir Jawad scored a sparkling 106 to guide Willes Little Flower School & College to a 117-run win over Badda High School and College on the opening day of the Standard Chartered Young Tigers National Under 16 Cricket Tournament 2011 (Dhaka Metro) at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Batting first, Willes posted a mammoth 326-10 in 50 overs before bowling out Badda for 209 runs in 40 overs. Zakir Hossain made 42 for Badda while Ismail Reza claimed 4-38.
Earlier, Standard Chartered Bank’s CEO Jim McCabe inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest. BCB vice-president Ahmed Sajjadul Alam, director Shafiqur Rahman Munna and CEO Manzur Ahmed were present on the occasion.
