A 3-day trade show called ‘Showcase Malaysia 2013’ organised by the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry begins in Dhaka tomorrow for the third time.
The main objective of the showcase is to enhance Malaysia’s image as a reliable supplier, said BMCCI president Syed Nurul Islam at a news conference in Dhaka on Tuesday.
It was also addressed by BMCCI secretary general Md Alamgir Jalil, Malaysian high commissioner Nourin Binti Othman, Robi vice-president Mohiuddin Babar and Green Delta Insurance Company adviser ASA Muiz.
The trade show will also connect a good and wide network with the local community of Bangladesh and Malaysia, said the BMCCI president.
‘Bangladesh is more attractive investment and business destination for Malaysian businessmen and we would like to address the issues to the business community and investors of Malaysia through the showcase’, Nurul added.
The Malaysian high commissioner said the showcase would show the path of strengthening the relationship between Bangladesh and Malaysia as Malaysian businessmen were keen to invest in various sectors of Bangladesh.
‘It is not possible to reduce the trade gap only through garment sector, there has to have some more investing areas in Bangladesh’, Othman added.
There will be 47 stalls of Malaysian companies in the showcase where sectors like manufacturing, export, trade, educational institutions, service providers, telecommunications, banking, insurance, information technology, tourism and health are taking part.
