Maliha, a schoolgirl from Khulna, was named this year’s Khude Gaanraj at the grand finale held on Friday at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
Sajib and Rahul respectively secured the first runner-up and second runner-up positions in the fourth season of the reality show of children’s singing competetion named Meridian-Channel-i Khude Gaanraj.
Apart from the crown and taka five lakh cash prize, Maliha received a 10-year academic scholarship from Cambrian School and College, and a health insurance during her school life from Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital and Green Life Hospital.
Sajib, from Netrokona, won taka three lakh cash prize; while Ratul, also from Khulna, received taka two lakh cash prize. Both the runners-up also got academic and health benefits from the sponsors Cambrian School and College, Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital and Green Life Hospital.
Impress Audio Vision will produce albums of all of the three winners and Channel-i will promote these singers the way they did for the previous years’ winners.
Eminent singers Shahnaz Rahmatullah, Ferdous Ara and SI Tutul selected the winners from the five contestants at the gala round.
The gala event opened with a dance performance by the underprivileged children. The top five contestants of the fourth season of the show also performed at the programme along with the previous winners of the children’s singing competition.
The top six participants of another Chnnel-i sponsored reality show Veet-Channel-i Top Model presented dance at the event.
